ACCOMMODATION
Kichanga Lodge has 11 Ocean View Bungalows, 6 Garden View Bungalows, 5 Villas and 1 VIP Suite. All of Kichanga’s bungalows and villas have a large verandah with makuti thatch roofing and African earth coloured walls, some of the bungalows have interconnecting doors, which are suitable for families.
The rooms are very spacious and styled with an ethnic touch, including large beds, mosquito nets and ceiling fans. Hair dryers are made available on request and a safe for each room is located in the main office for valuable goods.
FACILITIES
Guests are welcomed on arrival at the Main Clubhouse, with a fresh juice and brief orientation. The Clubhouse consists of the Reception area, Main Bar, Wifi Lounge with a selection of books to read, an adjacent Restaurant and an upstairs Alcove.
The open sided Restaurant has incredible views over the beach and ocean, serving mouth-watering seafood dishes fresh from the local village, along with other delicious international cuisine.
A Tailor shop is also located in the Clubhouse, where a tailor is on site and can make various outfits within 24 hours out of selected patterns. Guests can choose their own traditional material, known as Kitenge or Khanga.
The Swimming Pool is embedded on an earth coloured terrace, overlooking the beach and ocean with 4 large shaded hammocks and a shower facility to wash off the beach sand and salt.
The Beach is conveniently located between two protruding rock points, making it exclusive and private during high tide and perfect for swimming. Footwear is provided for swimmers who wish to explore out over the reef during low tide. Zanzibari sunbeds are stationed across the beach, beneath the shade of the tropical Palm trees.
An old dhow boat acts as a Beach Bar offering various tropical cocktails of your choice along with other liquers, Tanzanian beers, soft drinks, also hosting an afternoon complimentary tea and coffee for all guests, inclusive of homemade biscuits and cakes.
A cute little makuti hut, raised above the beach sand, facilitates as a massage room for guests wishing to divulge in some Zanzibari pampering and relaxation therapy using aromatherapy oils homemade on the island.

ACTIVITIES
There are various activities for guests. On the beach, there is volleyball and football. An outdoor games room for table tennis and table soccer with a TV corner is also available.
For those looking to partake in diving and kite surfing, Kichanga has an agreement with a professional Padi Center, 15 minutes drive from the lodge.
